Born in Caracas, Venezuela, to a family of four generations of artists. Luis Valenzuela is a visionary fashion designer, art/fashion curator, visual artist, and journalist with a master’s degree in business communication. A pioneer in eco-friendly design, he integrates research and development (R&D) as a key driver of innovation, blending tradition with cutting-edge technology. His work, rooted in sustainability, craftsmanship, and education, has shaped contemporary fashion while inspiring future generations.
In 2007, he founded Earth Day Miami and launched EcoArtFashion© in 2010, establishing the world’s first EcoArtFashion Week™. This initiative evolved into The Art of Fashion Show™, a platform celebrating the enduring artistry of sustainable fashion. His innovative approach has been showcased at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week and featured in Vogue, Elle, and WWD.
In 2016, Valenzuela confidently expanded his influence by founding The Creators Lab in Wynwood, Miami, a cutting-edge New Media Art research center focused on the dynamic intersection of art, design, and technology. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has successfully led programs with prestigious institutions such as Arts for Learning and directed impactful educational initiatives at the Coral Gables Museum and the Florida Grand Opera.
In 2022, he founded the MIAMI Shoe Museum, home to his extensive collection of over 800 historical shoes, emphasizing footwear’s cultural significance. In 2024, he launched the museum's Research Center, a hub for footwear heritage studies. The same year, he introduced MIAMI Vibes, the first AI Footwear Challenge, a global competition reimagining footwear design through AI, sustainability, and technology, setting a new standard for the industry's future.
